Perfect Fit Blinds – A Comparison

Posted: 31 Jul 2015

Perfect Fit Blinds are an easy and popular way of fitting DIY blinds, as they come with a frame that doesn’t require any drilling or screws to fit. Many people also think of them as a cheap alternative to professionally fitted blinds. When in fact you’re actually paying extra for the “perfect fit” frame on top of the cost of the blinds themselves.  Therefore, we thought it would be best to show a comparison of perfect fit Blinds and pure™ pleated blinds.

Prefect Fit blinds suffer from the fact that they are only generally designed to be used in standard shaped windows. Instead of being designed for conservatories! When compared to our pure™ conservatory blinds, which have been specifically designed to be used in conservatories. The limitations of Perfect Fit blinds are easier to see…

Window Blinds

What a lot of people don’t realise about Perfect Fit blinds is that the frame actually covers a large amount of the glass. This effectively makes the window smaller. In smaller windows, such as the fanlight windows, it will dramatically reduce the amount of visible glass.

The blue highlighted areas show the size of the Perfect Fit frame compared to the pure™ Blind Rails

In contrast, pure™ pleated blinds have no frame. Instead, just a neat top and bottom rail that wraps snugly around your glazing beads. This means the rail barely covers any glass at all.

Exterior Appearance

Perfect Fit frames are generally available in a choice of White, Brown or Golden Oak. But what do you do if your conservatory has a white interior frame and brown exterior frame? This customer chose white to match their interior, but because the Perfect Fit frame covers the glass, it meant that the white frame is clearly visible from outside. You can even see the clips that hold the blinds in place.

Our pure™ pleated blinds are so much less noticeable from the outside, which is one of the reasons why we include lots of external photos of conservatories in our gallery.

Roof Blinds

Conservatory roofs often have the problem of containing many awkwardly shaped areas of glazing, including obtuse angles and tight gaps, and require a bespoke solution in order to be properly covered. This is where another limitation of Perfect Fit comes in. This is because, the frame itself is only really suited for square and rectangular shapes. Therefore, they will cause large unsightly gaps when used in other shapes. The blinds themselves cannot be cleaned, meaning any insects that get trapped behind the blinds cannot be removed. (these are the dark spots in the image above)

As our pure™ pleated blinds have been specifically designed to be used in conservatories, they provide a noticeably neater fit. They can also be easily unclipped for cleaning, so that your blinds stay looking like new for longer.

If you’re looking for the best fitting blinds possible, you need to choose made-to-measure blinds. As they have been specifically designed to be used in conservatories. Only our pure™ conservatory blinds can provide this neat fit – click here to arrange a quotation with a member of our sales team, and see how our blinds can transform your conservatory.
