Over the past few months we’ve been making some big changes down at our factory in Ashford, Kent. We have been constructing a new mezzanine floor to go over the main factory area, effectively increasing the square footage. This means we can create new production areas focused on some of the most popular blinds we are now selling.
Why make these changes?
As the market has changed over the years we have seen an increased need in very large or wide blinds. Lantern roof blinds, for example, need blinds that can be several meters long to cover the area properly. As such, this top mezzanine floor will contain an area specifically designed to accommodate these very large blinds. This extra space will allow us to ensure an even higher level of quality. As, we can now create blinds up to 5m long and have the space to be able to rotate them 360º during production. This means that not only do we have a better area for creating large blinds for lantern roofs, but we can even make new, wider bespoke roller blinds or Vision blinds.
It also gives us the Ashford factory the space to create even larger gable blinds, so we can create neat fitting blinds for the wide variety of gables and triangular shaped windows that in the market at the moment.
Creating extra space
Expanding our Ashford factory will also give Conservatory Blinds Limited more space for our research and development team. They are always looking into ways for us to expand our product range, and continue to create market leading blind systems. Extra space for offices will also be created for the various members of staff over at our factory.
