Do Conservatory Blinds Reduce Heat?

Posted: 14 Jan 2020

At Conservatory Blinds Limited we have specifically designed our blinds to reduce heat in conservatories, with many of our customers having expressed how hot their conservatory can get in the warmer months. Therefore, we have three different ranges of blinds that tackle this problem head on! This includes our:

Duette® Thermal Blinds

The Duette® Thermal blinds have become a popular choice in many homes around the UK. They offer customers with a great window dressing solution for their conservatory. This includes:

  • Neatly fitted blinds next to the glass – leaving minimal gaps
  • The cords being concealed within the fabrics – leaving no visible holes!

Above all, the Duette® Thermal blinds are excellent at providing temperature control. Thanks to their unique cellular honeycomb structure they can help to keep conservatories cool in the warmer months. We highly recommend Duette® Thermal roof blinds if you are experiencing problems with temperature control. It isn’t a surprise that heat rises, therefore in the summer months a conservatory roof can reach up to 60ºC (140ºF)! Duette® Thermal roof blinds help to prevent this heat build-up, reducing temperatures in your room and making it more comfortable to use.

Hidden Tip: Duette® Thermal Blinds can also provide an insulation layer for the winter to keep the warmth in. This can help to reduce your heating bill in the colder months while still enjoying a well-insulated room.

pure™ Pleated Blinds

Our  pure™ Pleated Blinds are another option to consider when trying to reduce heat in your conservatory. This fabric slightly differs from the Duette® Thermal fabric. Instead, the fabric uses our Solar Design™  fabrics to provide temperature control properties. Our pure Pleated Blinds are available in over 150 solar reflective fabrics and have many advantages:

  • Easy to maintain
  • Washable with permanent pleats
  • They do not rot, fade or oxidise
  • With the right care, they can look like new for years

Overall, our pure™ Pleated Blinds can offer a sleek design to your conservatory with their single pleats and visible cords. While offering temperature control elements to provide a comfortable living space.

Hidden Tip: We designed pure™ Pleated Blinds so they could cover the most awkward shaped glazing. This means we can fit blinds in almost any situation

Pinoleum Blinds

Lastly, our unique pure™ Pinoleum conservatory blinds with an optional solar reflective lining are great for temperature control. The solar reflective lining is an additional extra which we can add to our pure™ Pinoleum conservatory blinds; which works in conjunction with solar glazing to reduce heat in your conservatory and eliminates the risk of damaging your glass.  Popular with timber-framed conservatories, Pinoleum blinds provide a perfect balance. They maintain a traditional style in your room, while still using advanced technology to reduce heat.

There Is No Better Time

While it may seem odd to think about your conservatory overheating when it’s still winter, many people leave thinking about blinds until the summer. This is when they’re reminded just how hot a conservatory or extension can get during a heatwave. Unfortunately, this is often too late to do anything about it. So, there is no better time to arrange a free quotation:

  • Take full advantage of our Latest Offers
  • Experience shorter lead times
  • Get fully prepared for summer.
