Are you looking to add extra shading and privacy to your timber orangery, but don’t want to compromise on the traditional look and style? Thanks to our years of experience, we can create the perfect blinds that will transform your room while matching your décor.
Attention to detail. From custom coloured components to Pinoleum wood weave with Farrow & Ball® paints, we can create blinds that look like no other.
Our blinds for conservatories are designed to fit unusual shapes perfectly, following the form and line of the window. We also add infill blinds to fit those tiny spaces (for example around light or fan bosses) that are often left uncovered.
We’ve developed our Pureâ„¢ orangery blinds with exclusive technology. Our unique rails allow the blinds to fit into each individual pane of glass, with minimal gaps around tricky areas.
Our Pureâ„¢ conservatory blinds are designed to fit snugly over your window beading integrating with your conservatory or garden room so they don’t stand out.
Our Pinoleum Wood-Weave blinds are available in the full range of Farrow & Ball® colours, painted using our own bespoke facilities in our factory in Kent.
We have our own powder coating facility in our factory in Ashford, Kent which gives us the ability to provide rails, clips and end-caps in 12 standard colours, with the option to customise in any RAL colour.
There are two main ways we can fit blinds to the roof of an orangery. You are able to have an individual layout, which means that each panel of glass in the roof gets it’s own individual blind. Thanks to our own Pureâ„¢ fitting technology, we can make blinds that neatly fit into even the more awkward shapes that some roofs can have.
Alternatively, you can cover the entire roof with a lantern roof blind.
Whether or not you will need a power supply for orangery blinds will depend on the type of blinds you have.
Blinds in an individual layout – where each panel of glass has their own blind – will need to be powered from a mains power supply, as the amount of blinds required make it impractical for each to be battery powered.
If you are having a horizontal lantern-style blind, then we do offer a range of battery powered options. These include the addition of an optional solar charger.
While it is technically possible to use dim-out fabrics in conservatories, we do not recommend this as heat build-up caused by the dim-out fabric may damage the glass.
Our hardware is available in a complete range of RAL colours, so they can complement the colour of your conservatory and feel like a natural part of the room.

Alan visited us to give us a quote for the installation of pleated blinds to our conservatory. He was clearly very experienced and knowledgeable about his job. Without putting any pressure on us at all, he gradually explained which blinds would be suitable, how they would fit and function, and which types of pleated blind would be best for us. He was also very good at helping us decide on colour and quality of materials, and was very honest about financial costs they would incur. It was our first and last quote, as we were confident that he had covered all bases.
The fitter Dan then came to take all the necessary measurements. It was a testament to his skill and experience, that when he returned to fit the blinds, they fitted absolutely perfectly. As a retired science teacher, I have always been a bit of a stickler for accuracy, but can honestly say that Dan’s work was A* 10/10.
Overall, we were very impressed, and would highly recommend them to anybody looking for a top class job!
We had signed up with another company but I had seen Conservatory Blinds [now Specialist Blinds] online and decided to give them a call. The reason I hadn’t previously called was the company is based in the South and I live on Merseyside but I was assured that this wasn’t a problem and arranged an appointment.
I got 17 Duette blinds for less than half the cost quoted by the other company! We cancelled the order and rebooked with this company. The staff are great, friendly and honest. I had wanted the blinds fitted for Christmas but they were up front with us, didn’t make half promises but made it clear that fitting would be January.
The blinds are great, easy to clean, easy to use and look amazing, so much so the company who built the conservatory are using a picture to show clients how their conservatory could look. Even after sales care is great, we had to replace a unit and both the rep and fitter responded to my request for advice the same day.
This is a really good company, so much so I will be ordering blinds from them once we have had the house windows replaced.
We would like to thank Craig for the excellent job he did on our conservatory roof blind, from his initial visit when he explained in detail the work involved, and his advice on choosing from the samples, to a very professional fitting of the blind.
He was very thorough and left the conservatory clean and tidy. Before leaving he explained and demonstrated the remote control and made sure we were happy with how to work it and the overall work he had done.
