Made to measure blinds can be quite a significant purchase for some. This means it is very important to us that all of our products live up to the highest possible standard. As such, we perform a wide range of quality control checks on our blinds and fabrics before we use them. This means we catch any problems before the blinds need to be installed.
Made To Measure Pleated Blinds
Pleated fabrics can look very different depending on the amount of light that is passing through them, so it’s important we check all of our fabrics in different light levels before we use them to make any made to measure blinds.
We used a specialised light table which automatically feeds fabric in front of a special illuminated diffuser. This allows the operator to identify any potential issues in the fabric. Importantly, the light table allows us to see how the blinds will look when illuminated at night; allowing us to remove any imperfections before they are used for our blinds.
As well as using the light table to check for any flaws; we also use a Xenon arc lamp to test how much the fabrics may fade under UV light. This is to ensure that our blinds will stay looking like new after many years in the sun.
Pinoleum Blinds
Pinoleum conservatory blinds are a highly specialised type of blind. They take a great deal of experience and expertise to make correctly.
We always ensure that all of our made to measure Pinoleum blinds have the neatest possible fit. That’s why we use a wide format printer to print out large paper templates for the blinds. This allows us to make sure that all of the blinds have been made to the correct dimensions. They are then sent to the fitter for installation.
These are just two examples of the various amount of checks we perform on all our blinds. These take place before they leave our factory and are sent to our installation team across the country.
Alongside all of the checks our factory performs before the blinds are sent for installation; our fitters will also perform a further inspection of all the blinds during installation, finishing with a final inspection by the customer before the installation is signed off.
A lot of these quality control checks are possible because we have outfitted our factory with a lot of specialised equipment. specifically to make the type of bespoke blinds used in conservatories and orangeries. You can see more of the specialised equipment in our factory, as well as the wide range of blinds in our main showroom, in our factory tour video.
